ISAIAH, CHAPTER 16, VS 4-8

ISAIAH, CHAPTER 16, VS 4-8

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 16, VS 4-5

“4 Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.

5 And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 16, VERSES 4&5
v. 4– Moab here is, as it was in Chapter 15, the Body of Christ, which is the way it was intended before the Body was split into denominations and “religionized”. He is saying that we are to dwell together spiritually as one body, and see the Power of Christ work against the spoiler–Satan–and stand on that power and the fact that he has already been defeated.

v. 5– Jesus rules in mercy, and in mercy and in truth was the throne established, and He shall sit upon it in “the tabernacle of David” or the house of David.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 16, VS 6-8

“6 We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.

7 Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the foundations of Kirhareseth shall ye mourn; surely they are stricken.

8 For the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah: the lords of the heathen have broken down the principal plants thereof, they are come even unto Jazer, they wandered through the wilderness: her branches are stretched out, they are gone over the sea.”
APPLICATION: CHAPTER 16, VS 6-8

6-7– Moab, again, is God’s people–The Body of Christ, but many have gone away from the true one-ness with Jesus. In fact, we do this every day. Many preach that once we are saved, we need not repent, because we are no longer “sinners”. This is not what Our Lord says. When we seek a closer walk with Our Lord daily, we need to be in a constant state of repentance. We need to submit daily more and more to His Will for us and our families, and learn to love Him more and more, and hear His Voice more and more clearly as we live our lives in His Arms.

8– Therefore, the Vineyard that God has planted is languishing, and the lords of the heathen have managed to tempt even the remnant of His Body who can see the obvious delusions. We are all tempted by our own weaknesses to be “broken down” in our relationship to Our Lord in the Spirit, and this breaks down our vines, they aren’t standing up with their faces to Jesus, but are wandering on the ground, with our thoughts much too much to this world, and have reached over to actually thinking more like satan wants us to than the way God wants. We can’t run our branches along this earthly ground, we must rise up and look to the ways of The Lord!!!

ISAIAH, CHAPTER 16, VS 1-3

ISAIAH, CHAPTER 16, VS 1-3

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 16, VERSES 1&2

“16 Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.

2 For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 16, VS 1-2

v. 1– God sent us the Lamb, and when we listen to Him alone, we will truly know Him and be in His Perfect Will.

v. 2– Those that wander from the nest (church denomination without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ) and seek the Lord personally, and work for Him in The Spirit, with the Spiritual Body of Christ (Spiritual Church) can truly do His work without hindrance of Tradition or influence from other people who see things with the mind and emotion instead of purely in the Spirit.

SCRIPTURE:CHAPTER 16, VS 3

“3 Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth. “

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 16, VERSE 3

v. 3– The Lord instructs His Spirit-filled followers to take HIS counsel, and–pray always—(the word for executing judgment also means to pray.) We are to “make our shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday”. He wants us to go among the people and cast our shadow (His shadow) upon the people and shelter them from the heat of satan’s dominance in their lives and in the organized churches.

God will not favor us because of our religious denomination. GOD IS NOT RELIGIOUS!! He is Spiritual, and so should His people be.

Religion is a set of rules which people follow and feel they are pleasing God. This is not His plan for His people! Many “religious” Christians will look down upon a Christian who detaches himself from an organized church to be only a member of the Body of Christ and be Spiritually connected with the rest of His Body. This verse says not to betray the one who wandereth. That person is truly following his way with the Holy Spirit!

ISAIAH, CHAPTER 15

ISAIAH CHAPTER 15–ENTIRE CHAPTER

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 15, vs 1-9

1The burden of Moab. Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence;

2 He is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep: Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba: on all their heads shall be baldness, and every beard cut off.

3 In their streets they shall gird themselves with sackcloth: on the tops of their houses, and in their streets, every one shall howl, weeping abundantly.

4 And Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh: their voice shall be heard even unto Jahaz: therefore the armed soldiers of Moab shall cry out; his life shall be grievous unto him.

5 My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall flee unto Zoar, an heifer of three years old: for by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall they go it up; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.

6 For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate: for the hay is withered away, the grass faileth, there is no green thing.

7 Therefore the abundance they have gotten, and that which they have laid up, shall they carry away to the brook of the willows.

8 For the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the howling thereof unto Eglaim, and the howling thereof unto Beerelim.

9 For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood: for I will bring more upon Dimon, lions upon him that escapeth of Moab, and upon the remnant of the land.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 15, VS 1-9

v. 1-9– Moab, Nebo, and Medeba represent the organized Christian denominations which have developed out of the original Christians (Moab) and have been corrupted by Satan to prevent peoples’ growth in the Lord. People are brought down to a weak state by rules and regulations substituting the guidance and total submission to Our Lord Jesus Christ which is the only pathway to the Joy of the Lord.(See Joel 1:16). Moab represents the original true Christians Isaiah speaks of in Chapter 5–God’s vineyard and all He did for us, His church, but Satan came in and corrupted it by taking the Word of God away from the people during the Dark Ages, but then, through Martin Luther and others, He brought His vineyard back into His Word of Redemption for awhile, but after awhile, the people again began to slip back into putting the organized church before a relationship to Christ in their lives, and now He needs to open His people up to Him again. The prophet Joel speaks of the locust, palmerworm and cankerworm and caterpillar eating in God’s vineyard.(Joel 1:4 and 2:25) These are Satan’s representatives trying their hardest to keep our minds off Jesus, and onto ourselves, wanting an easy life, pride– even in our work for The Lord and the church….anything that comes in the way of that One Thing that must be first—Our Pure Love for Jesus. (See Jeremiah 50:5-7; 17:5-8; 10:14 &15)

END OF CHAPTER 15

ISAIAH CHAPTER 14, VS 16-32

ISAIAH, CHAPTER 14, VS 16-32

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 14, VS 16-17

16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 14, VS 16-17

. We look On Satan like this–he works on this earth, but he is no god to the Children Of God. He cannot make our world tremble or shake and (v. 17) he must now open the house of his prisoners! We are no longer his prisoners, and we have been forgiven!!!

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 14, VS 18-20

18 All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.

19 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.

APPLICATION; CHAPTER 14, VS. 18-20

  1. 18-20– God is talking to Satan again–he has been defeated, and has (v. 20) slain his people by lying to them and causing them not to believe in his defeat and by turning as many as possible away from Christ.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 14, VS 21-27

21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.

22 For I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the Lord.

23 I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the Lord of hosts.

24 The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:

25 That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.

26 This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.

27 For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 14, VS 21-27

v. 21-27– Satan is utterly defeated, and will be punished, along

with his demons and fallen angels, so that he will not possess the earth again.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 14, VS 28-30

28 In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden.

29 Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent’s root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.

30 And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall slay thy remnant.
APPLICATION: CHAPTER 14, VS 28-30
v. 28-30– In these verses palestina represents Satan. The rod is Jesus, who was temporarily (or so Satan thought) “broken”. “For out of the serpent’s root shall come forth a cockatrice”. In John 12:32  Jesus likens Himself to the serpent God told Moses to lift up for those who were bitten by the snakes to look upon to be healed. He is held up for all to believe, and the “fiery flying serpent” (See Numbers 21: 1-9) which is the fruit of the cockatrice is the Holy Spirit, through which Jesus will put the final end to iniquity. “•..the firstborn of the poor shall feed …” when we have Jesus in our hearts, we will never be poor in our hearts. When we have Jesus we have EVERYTHING!!! He is EVERYTHING!!!!

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 14, VS 31-32

31 Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.

32 What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the Lord hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.

APPLICATION: 14:31-32:

v. 31–“there shall come from the north a smoke …” The smoke is from the Fire of the Holy Spirit, and certainly none of us are alone at anytime—Our Lord is always with us…always listening and watching for us to submit to Him in everything, to strengthen our relationship with Him, and to realize that without Him we are nothing.

v. 32—This is saying that the Gospel message is simple…Jesus is Lord, the God of Zion, and He is our God and Saviour, and we poor sinners totally trust in Him, and totally submit our lives to Him. In the end, Zion, God’s chosen people, will come to Jesus as Messiah. That is the message that we need to courageously give to the “nations” (unbelievers) even in the face of persecution—— ESPECIALLY at that time!!!

END OF CHAPTER 14

ISAIAH CHAPTER 14, VS 1-15

CHAPTER 14

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 14, VS 1-3

1 For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.

2 And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the Lord for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.

3 And it shall come to pass in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 14,VS 1-3

v. 1– We are the strangers who will cleave to the house of Jacob.

We have more of a kinship with the Jewish people than most of us realize. When their eyes are opened at the end of the Age of Gentiles, we will all share the house of Abraham.  v. 2– The people who will “take them and bring them to their place” are the Gentiles whom the Lord will work through to open the eyes of the Jewish people. The word for “possess” means also to give an inheritance–thus the Jewish people and the Gentiles who are chosen by God will share the inheritance of Abraham and Jacob, and will all, together, be servants and handmaids of the Lord. We all will “take them captives, whose captives we were”—When Jesus comes again, He will finish the Great Plan of Salvation and throw Satan in the Pit forever.

v. 3– And the Lord will give us rest from all the things that come from Satan and his bondage that he holds the world in. In the End, we will live forever with Jesus on the New Earth.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 14 VS 4-15—

That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!

5 The Lord hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.

6 He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.

7 The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.

8 Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

9 Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

10 All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?

11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 14: VS 4-15

This shows the total defeat of satan at Calvary, and the visible showing of it at the end of time.
