ISAIAH CHAPTER 32, VS 9-20

ISAIAH, CHAPTER 32, VS 9-20

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 32, VS 9-14

9.” Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.

10 Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.

11 “Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins.

12 They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.

13 Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:

14 Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 32, VS 9-14

v. 9-10– Some people (yes, even those of us in the body of Christ) are like loose women, loving whatever we want with no thought of God–committing adultery with the things of this world. He is saying, to listen, and repent, for your time of reckoning is coming.

v. 11– “God is asking us to repent and turn to Him–disconnect ourselves from the things of this world, to bare our souls to Him, and put on the garments of humility.

v. 12-14– Unless we repent, and if we continue to love the things of this world, we are open for Satan’s “weeds” to grow in our hearts. We will be starving for the Word of Comfort from Our Lord, but will not hear it because of the softness of our souls. We see this happening in our times. People don’t want to work physically, mentally or spiritually. They seek after leisure instead of growth and development in all areas. The price will be emptiness, and distance from Our Lord.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 32, VS 15-16

15 “Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.

16 Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field”.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 32, VS 15-16

. 15– When we do repent and turn to Him alone, the Holy Spirit comes and God’s beautiful plants grow in our hearts.

v. 16– Then the evil will be put in its place and God’s Holy Spirit will dwell in God’s people.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 32, VS 17-19

17 “And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;

19 When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 32, VS 17-19

v. 17-19– Those that have the Holy Spirit in them, and are totally submitted to Our Lord will be peaceful and will have the protection of Jesus, and will rest with their Beloved beside His quiet stream of living water, and when troubles come to us (hail on the forest) we will have the Lord’s protection, but those who think first of this world (city) will be on lower ground and will be washed out.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 32, VS 20

20 “Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox and the ass.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 32, VS 20

. 20– Blessed are they who plant their seeds beside His waters–the power that sends out the people who do His work.

ISAIAH, CHAPTER 32, vs 1-8

ISAIAH, CHAPTER 32, VS 1-8

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 32, VS 1-5

1.”Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.

2 And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.

3 And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.

4 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.

5 The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 32, VS 1-5

v. 1– The King, Jesus shall reign in the earth and in the hearts of His people!! And He will rule through His princes. We are the children of the King!

v. 2– Jesus is our hiding place–He protects and empowers us for everything we need!

v. 3– He enlightens us to see things spiritually instead of carnally and so to be more useful to Him in His work.

v. 4– He reveals His truths to common people.

v. 5– The word for “vile” means foolish, for “liberal”-generous, “churl” means selfish, or miserly,–Therefore, we have the teaching of Christ. He’s saying that it will no longer be considered foolish to give your things away and be generous, and the selfish will not necessarily lead a bountiful life.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 32, VS 6-8

6.”For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the Lord, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

7 The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.

8 But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 32, VS 6-8

v. 6-7– He’s speaking of what’s in people’s hearts, that to be selfish with one thing is to be selfish with all, including giving ourselves to God, and being free to spread His word in act and voice to others.

v. 8– But to be generous with material things is to be generous with God, and by that will we stand with God.

ISAIAH CHAPTER 31

ISAIAH, CHAPTER 31

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 31, VS 1-3

1.”Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!

2 Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.

3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 31, VS 1-3

v. 1– Woe to those who rely on the things of this world. Not only is this commanded in the commandments, to not worship the things of this world, but it is commanded many places besides here in the Word. Why would we want flawed help, and flawed wisdom when we can get the Real Truth and ultimate wisdom from God?

v. 2– God alone is wise, and will rise against evil. He must do

this to cleanse His universe of the influences of Satan. The house of the evildoers is Satan’s hidden influence in the evils of this world.

V.3– We shouldn’t rely on other men. They are as weak as we are, and we will both fail and fall.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 31, VS 4

4.” For thus hath the Lord spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the Lord of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 31, VS 4

  1. Satan was as the young lion preying on the people of the Old Testament times, as now. They had not yet been saved. The earth was in the hands of Satan from Adam’s fall, and the people as a whole didn’t have the power of God as we do, if we are saved. So Satan didn’t listen, and the people fell prey to worshiping false gods, etc. But God Himself came as a man, and fought the lion for His people. That is salvation.

1 Peter 5:8 refers to satan as a roaring lion:

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: “

Also:” Proverbs 28:15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.”

And many other scriptures who refer to satan and his followers as roaring lions, or young lions, as opposed to the Lion of Judah, which is Jesus Christ, and He will greatly and eternally punish both satan and his followers.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 31, VS 5

5 As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also He will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 31, VS 5

5– Until He comes again, one way the Lord defends His people through His people. As we rise above the things of this world, and fly with God, we will defend the Body of Christ in His power, in the Spirit, to snatch the people out of the lies of Satan (deliver), and lead them into (passing over) a knowledge of their place in The Body, to slip through (meaning of preserve) Satan’s fingers, until we come together in unity and fulfill God’s plan for His true church!

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 31, VS 6

“Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 31, VS 6

6– But first His people must totally turn to Him with continued repentance.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 31, VS 7

7 “For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 31, VS 7

7– We must see the things of this world, and of our former

selves (such as fear, anxiety, vanity, jealousy, etc.) as enemies and turn only to God.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 31, VS 8

8 “Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 31, VS 8

8– Then we can really go in God’s name! Then Satan (the Assyrian) will fall by the sword of the Word of God in our mouths.

We aren’t “mighty or mean men”–We are the people of God, and that is what he will flee from—the power of God in us!

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 31, VS 9

8.”And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the Lord, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 31, VS 9

9– “Satan will flee from us because of Jesus’ name!! Once we, as God’s people get a hold of that in our spirits then we will be victorious

in Jesus’ name and power!! The Lord’s fire is in His people—As we cling to Our Lord Jesus Christ, He will work through us.”
