GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 28

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 28 ~ ~ Job 37:22 ~ ~ “He comes from the north as golden splendor; With God is awesome majesty.”

Some people can tell direction better than others. My husband always joked that I “could get turned around in my own shoes” He was right, I could, except when I was on my home territory.

It turns out that people who are good a directions (like he was) might have more magnets in their heads…..or not!!!

Scientists recently announced that they have discovered that the human brain is laced with tiny magnetic particles made of magnetite. Magnetite is the same mineral that occurs naturally in lodestones. While the particles are distributed throughout the brain, they seem to be more concentrated in the membrane that encloses the brain.

Scientists said that they had not seen the particles before because they are so tiny. The smallest are about a millionth of an inch in diameter, while the largest are a hundred-thousandth of an inch in diameter. Added together, all the particles in the average brain amount to only one millionth of an ounce.

The particles are identical to those found in many bacteria, pigeons, salmon and whales. They help those creatures navigate, using the earth’s magnetic field. Scientists are not prepared to say that they serve the same purpose in humans. Instead, they continue to study the particles to learn what purpose they serve.

But, we know that at the time of the creation, the earth’s magnetic field was several times stronger than it is today. When Christ walked this earth, the magnetic field was twice as strong as it is today. Perhaps in that stronger magnetic field, human beings were easily able to keep track of their direction.

However we find out which way “our shoes are”, it all comes from the Great Creator God, and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Ps 50:12~ ~ “…for the earth is Mine and the fulness thereof.”

Job 37:9

From the chamber of the south comes the whirlwind, And cold from the scattering winds of the north.

Psalm 107:1-3 ~ ~ “Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,
And gathered out of the lands,
From the east and from the west,
From the north and from the south.”

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 27

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 27 ~ ~ Ecclesiastes 10:20~ ~ “Do not curse the king, even in your thought; Do not curse the rich, even in your bedroom; For a bird of the air may carry your voice,
And a bird in flight may tell the matter.”

Mankind has been teaching birds to talk for thousands of years. Myna birds, parrots, parakeets, crows and ravens, mocking birds, even those pesky starlings, have been known to learn to talk. Man has also been using birds to deliver messages for just as long.

But, so far, pigeons are the only birds that have been known to learn to distinguish all the letters of the alphabet, and that in just four months. Not only that, but they tend to confuse the same ones that many people tend to confuse! They even can distinguish legitimate words from groups of random letters, in effect……..read.

Pigeons apparently pay attention to detail, because for years they have been used to spot defective items on assembly lines. In fact, they have a better record than their human counterparts!!!

Making use of their attention and ability to see detail…..I’m not sure I’m ready for this one…….tests have shown that pigeons can be as accurate as trained pathologists and radiologists in reading mammograms and pathology samples!!! (More jobs lost!!!)

This attention to detail makes me wonder if Noah knew that talent of the dove, and that’s why he sent a dove out to see if there was any vegetation sticking above the subsiding waters in the drying time after the flood.

The white dove has been shown as a symbol of the Holy Spirit. Possibly that started from the gospels when John the Baptist baptized Jesus, and he testified that he saw the holy spirit “descending like a dove”. This might, or might not, mean that he saw a symbolic image of a dove, but the Holy Spirit certainly isn’t in the shape of a dove in reality! He may have meant the motion was graceful like that of a dove.

The dove, with its pure white feathers, also calls to mind the purity of God, and its swift and graceful flight in the air reminds us of the many movements of the Holy Spirit in our soul, while its gentleness creates in our minds the image of the Holy Spirit hovering over creation during the first week. It is an image that has lasted throughout the centuries.

Another type of dove is in a symbolic way in Ps 68 (below). It is used to show that Israel, though they went through much turmoil and tribulation in their history, and was not necessarily known as a prosperous nation, Yahweh sees them as a beautiful golden dove, decorated as victorious in war.

Genesis 1:2

“The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”

Mt 10:16

“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”

Genesis 8:8

He (Noah) also sent out from himself a dove, to see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground.

Matthew 3:16-17

“When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Psalm 68:13

“When you lie down [to rest] among the cooking stones,
You [Israel] are like the wings of a dove [of victory] overlaid with silver,
Its feathers glistening with gold [trophies taken from the enemy].”

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 26

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 26 ~ ~ Ps 145:21 ~ ~ “My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, and all flesh will bless His holy name forever and ever.”

Are pandas related to bears? Are they related to raccoons? Or neither? Evolutionary scientists have been debating this for more than a century. They were sure the giant and lesser pandas should be grouped together because of similarities in their teeth. And even though the giant panda looks like a bear, it doesn’t hibernate. Nor does it roar – it has a very unbear-like bleat, like a lamb.

Modern molecular biology has now investigated the panda question. DNA and proteins from greater and lesser pandas were examined and compared. Researchers arrived at a startling conclusion, based on what they knew about raccoon and bear DNA and proteins. The greater panda is a bear. The lesser panda is not a bear, but is related to the raccoon.

Large male giant pandas may attain 6 feet in length and weigh more than 220 pounds; females are usually smaller. We’re familiar with pictures of the round black ears and black eye patches standing out against a white face and neck. Black limbs, tail, legs, and shoulders contrast with the white torso.

But what we maybe didn’t notice is that the rear paws point inward, which gives pandas a waddling gait. Pandas can easily stand on their hind legs and are commonly observed somersaulting, rolling, and dust-bathing. Although somewhat awkward as climbers, pandas readily ascend trees and, on the basis of their resemblance to bears, are probably capable of swimming. An unusual characteristic is an enlarged wrist bone that functions somewhat like a thumb, enabling pandas to handle food with considerable dexterity.

Strangely, even though 90-98 percent of their diet is of leaves, shoots and stems of the bamboo plant, they are not well equipped to digest plants. Their forepaws, teeth, and jaws are good for bamboo harvesting, but they are unable to efficiently digest the plant fibers, so they have to eat great quantities in order to survive on the one plant. They can spend 16 out of 24 hours eating.

Although they eat almost all their diet in bamboo, they will eat meat if given them, and that is what is used for bait to attach location collars on individuals.

They have a solitary nature and mark their territories, much like other animals.

Giant pandas produce the smallest offspring, relative to the mother’s size, of any mammal. They are only 1/800th of the mother’s weight. This small birthweight is similar to bears, but the panda does not hibernate like bears. The mother will use her forepaws and the moveable wrist bones to cuddle her babies, and position them against her. Although, like others in the bear group, they occasionally have twins, they can only care for one baby.

The newborn panda is blind, and has a thin, all-white coat. Tiny, and very helpless, he can’t even move or find the milk for feeding. The mother must do everything for him for the first 3-4 weeks. Shortly after that, his eyes begin to open, but he can’t walk until he begins, very weakly at 80 days, and both he and his mother stay in the den for about 3 months.

He can’t eat bamboo until at least 14 months, while he is still nursing, then at about 1 ½ to 2 years he’ll be weaned, and just eat bamboo.

Although their early development is slow, they generally live about 20 years in the wild, and 30 in captivity.

It is amazing to see how varied the characteristics of animals, even in the same scientific categories, are. Just like they try to put God in a box, concerning nature, but He always shows Himself to be unique, and brilliant in His dealings with His creation.

He is that way with His True Church, too. Man separates and boxes people up. My generation will remember the by-gone song, popular in 1962 called “little boxes”. The little boxes were “made out of ticky-tacky, and they all looked just the same.” That’s how the world thinks, and the church wants to imitate the world many times. So, if someone’s box isn’t made out of ticky tacky, or it doesn’t look just like the others, that person many times will be judged.

But Our Lord doesn’t do it that way. He deals with every believer individually. When we believe He died and was raised for us, and cling to Him, knowing we can do nothing good on our own, repenting, and walking in the Spirit, we have our own individual, unique, relationship with Him, just as each child has with his parents, that is unlike any of his siblings.

He shows us where we go wrong. We have His Word to correct us, shown to us through the Holy Spirit. We have fellowship in unique ways, not all boxes alike,…… and unique times, and many times they are set up by the Lord Himself.

2 Timothy 3:16

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,”

That is the way the Personal God works….with His creation and His Church.

Jeremiah 13:3 ~ ~ “The Lord has appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn you.”

Isaiah 49:16 ~ ~ “See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;”

Isaiah 57;15 ~ ~ “For thus says the High and Lofty One
Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
‘I dwell in the high and holy place,
With him who has a contrite and humble spirit,
To revive the spirit of the humble,
And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.’”

Psalm 96:11 ~ ~ “Let the heavens rejoice and let the earth be glad, let the sea roar and the fulness thereof. Let the field be joyful and all that is therein; then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice before the Lord; (for He comes to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness and the people with His Truth;)”

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 25

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 25 ~ ~ Genesis 9:2~ ~ “And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.”

God did not allow man to eat meat before the Great Flood but gave us permission to do so after the flood. At the same time, God placed the fear of man into the animals so that they would know that they needed to protect themselves.

However, those animals we generally refer to as “domesticated” remained in a close relationship with man. Even animals we don’t often think of as pets can offer benefits to man. Researchers have found that when autistic children interact with dolphins the children become more communicative.

Researchers say that eye contact with pets is especially valuable. Animals generally find it very important to greet each other after a period of absence. That’s why our pets are so eager to greet us when we come home. It’s an important ritual for them, and we usually enjoy the warmth of the moment.

They have also found that when pets are introduced into a family setting, families generally show more signs of closeness and warmth. There is more of healthy playing and less arguing. One of the most surprising findings was that when people give attention to their pets, blood pressure drops. Even gazing into an aquarium lowers blood pressure. People with the highest blood pressure benefit the most from this interaction.

The unconditional love offered by our pets is truly a blessing from God. But our Creator’s unconditional love toward us through the forgiveness of sins in Jesus Christ is greater than any other love we can ever experience.

God is love, and we can’t even comprehend what that fact means, much less try to measure the amount of love He is capable of giving out, and the amount it took for Him to endure what He did on the cross——–especially His disconnection from the Father, who is one with Him, when the Father had to turn His back on Him because He took on ALL THE SINS OF ALL PEOPLE SINCE CREATION.

Portrait of a young woman playing with golden retriever in an empty room

That kind of Love we are incapable of comprehending, but still, He gives it to us when we repent of our sins, and give our lives to Him, living to glorify Him only.

There is another Jesus being preached now—this one is fake—he has fake love, which doesn’t include either holiness or justice. Make sure you are embracing the True Jesus for salvation. The one that is all JUST as well as all LOVE.

Contrary to what they say in the trending video, “Jesus Gets Us”, that is NOT the Jesus of the Bible, so please don’t get caught up in that. This is the false Jesus that the enemy would want us to embrace. This is the one who is for the whole agenda of those who would destroy Christianity. It is their made-up Jesus, and this is very dangerous deception.

Don’t let go of the fact that God loves us because of HIM, not because of us. We could do nothing to gain His favor, nothing at all. He doesn’t need us, and He DOESN’T embrace the political agenda put forth in the video. He wasn’t a poor immigrant, as they say. He is All God and all man, and He is the Creator and King of the Universe. He created these people and they are crucifying Him in a different way all over again.

Please, make sure you don’t get swept up with the hype that is so prevalent now. Don’t lose sight of His Severe Justice and holiness!!! He is angry now, He is not embracing the plans of the devil in this world!!!

If it doesn’t line up with the Word of God, it isn’t true. Fear and follow the Lord, not man!

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 24

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 24 ~ ~ Romans 1:20 ~ ~ “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse…”

Throughout the centuries, people have noticed, whether or not they believed in a Creator, that there is a mathematically precise structure to the universe and everything in it.

One everyday example of this precision can be found in plants. Many plants, including elm trees, grow their leaves, twigs and branches placed exactly halfway around the stem from each other. Next in the series are plants like the beech tree, with leaves placed one third of the way around the stem from the previous leaves. Third in the series are plants like the oak, with leaves placed at two fifths of a turn. The holly plant is next at three eighths, then larches at five thirteenths – and the sequence goes on.

Notice the number sequence of these fractions: 1,1,2,3,5,8,13 and so on. Each number is the sum of the two numbers that come just before it in the sequence. This particular mathematical pattern is called the Fibonacci series and is recognized as a basic mathematical series. Such mathematical precision is not arrived at by accident.

Such mathematical precision is only the product of power and intelligence, even as Paul says in Romans 1: “What may be known about God is manifest… His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made.” And while they are not flocking to the Bible, this is why many scientists are abandoning evolution!

God’s ways are so far above our ways, that we couldn’t even imagine, much less find, all the precision things in Creation.

As we see the sky, or woods, or ground, or animals, or plants, or our fellow human beings, we can constantly be in awe of the Glory and Majesty of our wonderful Creator God, and Father. It should make us even more grateful for our salvation through Jesus Christ, and our personal relationship with Him.

If remnants of the glory of His creation are still visible, what little we can learn of it, after the corruption fell on it because of man’s sin, just think, how glorious it will be when the corruption is gone, and we will interact and learn of it in it’s perfection as it was in the week of creation!!!

Both we, and creation itself are waiting for that day!

Romans 8:19-22 Amp.

For [even the whole] creation [all nature] waits eagerly for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration and futility, not willingly [because of some intentional fault on its part], but by the will of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will also be freed from its bondage to decay [and gain entrance] into the glorious freedom of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation has been moaning together as in the pains of childbirth until now.

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 23

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 23 ~ ~ Genesis 1:11~ ~ “And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, [and] the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed [is] in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.”

Genesis uses only a few words and simple language to describe the creation of trees. But the importance, variety and complexity of the largest and longest-living things on Earth, is amazing.

The largest Sequoias in northern California weigh more than six blue whales, and the average blue whale can grow to be 80 feet long and weigh more than 150 tons when it is fully matured. …That puts the trees at around 1000 TONS!!!

The tallest Australian eucalyptus trees and redwoods tower as high as a 30-story building. Some of the Bristlecone pines in the American west are 4,000 years old. That’s approximately the age of the earth.

Trees do more than provide us with building materials, food and medicine. Like other green plants, trees take the waste carbon dioxide produced by animals and humans and turns it into oxygen. As a bonus, trees produce sugar. The cellulose fiber we call wood is actually only thousands of sugar molecules linked into long chains.

Trees in the desert cool the air and pump enough moisture into the air to transform a dry air. If it were not for the mycorrhiza fungi, trees would battle through their roots for control of moisture and soil resources. However, when this fungus is present in the root systems, trees will link roots with each other and share water and nutrients, in effect, communicating and working together for mutual benefit.

There is much more in the creation around us than we will ever know in this life. Just as there is infinitely more to our God than we could ever know. I’d like to spend eternity finding it all out, wouldn’t you?

On the New Heavens and New Earth we will see these things and much more, plus face-to-face fellowship with Jesus!!!!

Ecclesiastes 3:11

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

Isaiah 57:15

For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

1 Corinthians 1:9

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Isaiah 65:17

“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.”

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 22

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 22 ~ ~ Genesis 18:14 ~ ~ “Is any thing too hard for the LORD? …..”

Deep in the Venezuelan jungle, 60 miles from the nearest settlement, it appears as if God decided to plant a very special garden. That garden grows on a mountain that rises 7,000 feet on sheer cliffs above the jungle. The mountain, rising eventually to 9,000 feet, is the highest mountain in South America outside the Andean mountain chain.

Called the Mountain of the Mists, this horseshoe shaped mountain features a 25 mile long river valley that is just as deep as North America’s Grand Canyon. The mountain is so remote and hard to reach that it was virtually unexplored until 1984.

Scientists have found that over half of the species of living things found on the mountain are new to science. Some are unlike any other creatures ever seen on Earth. A plant called the Neblinaria resembles a large artichoke standing four feet above the ground on a thick stalk. Four foot-tall carnivorous pitcher plants, giant earthworms, and long legged frogs add to the uniqueness of the place.

Rainfall has washed most of the nutrients from the soil, but many plants make their living by producing their own soil in the center of their leaves, while others live off the air itself!!

Think about that! Even with plants, God will find a way—When the soil was depleted, he found a way for them to survive.

Mankind was doomed to hell because of sin, but He found a way for us. He made a way to change us, make us a new creation, and pay the price for our sins, because we can’t, if we repent and trust Him as Savior and Lord. How much more of a miracle was that than changing the way the plants got their nourishment, because they could no longer do it the normal way.

John 14:6

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.”

2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Psalm 51:10

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Psalm 61:2

“From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

Hebrews 13:8

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

Have you repented of your sins and asked Him to make you a new creation? Have you told others about the offer of salvation through Jesus Christ?

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 21

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 21 ~ ~ Genesis 27:27~ ~ “And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son [is] as the smell of a field which the LORD hath blessed.”

We can smell about 10,000 different smells.

Humans and mammals detect smells by using at least 1,000 different genes. These genes are located in every cell in your body, but they are active only in your nose.

Each of the different genes seems designed to respond to a small group of odors. These genes all work as a team. They pass signals from the nerve cells in the nose to a small region of the brain called the olfactory bulb.

Our sense of smell relies on a very elegant and sophisticated system. Imagine, 1,000 genes lie at the heart of that system. Each one of those genes is information – a programmed code that is designed to make sense of what we smell.

This amazing process is all part of that fact that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by the One True God.

Psalm 139:14

“I will praise You; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are Your works; and that my soul knows right well.”

The sense of smell is spoken of in the Word of God in several ways. One way is the mention of God smelling the sweet smell of an offered sacrifice from His people. It wasn’t always actually sweet-smelling incense. It could be burning animal sacrifices, or produce, but the meaning that He wants to get across is His pleasure in the attitude of their sacrifice. It is interesting that God smells!

Genesis 8:20-21 ~ ~ “ Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.  And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.” Again, the smell was good in God’s view because of the attitude with which it was offered.

Paul speaks of this concept also. When he was in jail, and the church sent provisions, he referred to it as sweet-smelling, even though it probably wasn’t necessarily, physically so:

Phil. 4:18 ~ ~ “ Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.”

The most sweet-smelling sacrifice of all, by far, is the one that reached the nostrils of The Father from His dear son, on behalf of each of us!!! Paul points this out:

Ephesians 5:2 ~ ~ “ And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.”

But, when the people had secret sins, or their sacrifices weren’t heart-felt, or not offered in obedience, Elohim would say that He would not smell them, no matter how sweet-smelling they were in the air.

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 20

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 20 ~ ~ Genesis 1:28 ~ ~ “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.”

In just a few years plastic farms may become a common reality. Most plastics today are made from petroleum. Plastics made from petroleum are not considered biodegradable. Researchers have been searching for a way to get plants to produce plastic resin. Such plant-produced resin could be used to make biodegradable plastics. The few biodegradable plastics now on the market are made by mixing starch or other plant material with petroleum products.

Researchers have announced that they have engineered a plant that makes polymer resin. The resin is a biodegradable form of the petroleum-based plastic polypropylene that’s now used to make containers and wrappers. While the plant-produced polypropylene looks and acts like its petroleum-based cousin, it is easily broken down by enzymes in the soil. To produce the plastic, researchers added to a relative of the rape plant a gene that enables a common soil bacterium to make the plastic. They say that preliminary studies indicate that plants can be engineered to make a variety of plastics. Further research is being done to increase plastic production and design a plant that is easy to grow on a large-scale.

When God placed man on earth, He told us to make use of it for our good and the good of the rest of the creation. Our discovery and use of the abilities God placed into the creation fulfills this command and improves life for all of us.

If the things that they do is for the benefit of people, God is glorified, but if, like the things we have been seeing in the last few years, it is harmful to people, and only for attempting to glorify the leaders of the cause, be it for money or power, or usually both, then it is a revolt against the God of the Universe, and God will lower His hand of them eventually, as He did many times in the past. They will feel the wrath of God sooner or later, in His wisdom.

Romans 1:18

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;”

2 Chronicles 24:18

“And they left the house of the Lord God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.”

2 Chronicles 36:16

“But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.”

And today we see them mocking God every day in this nation and this world. But, as the Word says, God will not be mocked:

Galatians 6:7

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.”

We are in the midst of times like those. It is up to us to do what we can to bring people to a knowledge of Jesus Christ, and stand for the Truth wherever and whenever we can.

Mark 16:15

“And he said unto them, Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Matthew 10:22

“And you will be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endures to the end shall be saved.”

John 3:17

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

This is our part—to proclaim Christ as the Savior, not to proclaim wrath upon the evil-doers.

Ephesians 4:21

“If so be that you have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:”

Ephesians 5:9

“(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)”

Ephesians 4:15

“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: “

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 19

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 19 ~ ~ Revelation 21:4~ ~ “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Despite modern medical advancements, pain management remains a difficult problem today. Man has used various forms of aspirin to manage pain for thousands of years. While more potent drugs can be used today, our primary approach to pain has changed little over the millennia. Recent advancements now promise to show us how to deal directly with many forms of pain.

Let’s say that you accidentally get a paper cut. The pain produced by a paper cut is always way out of proportion to the actual injury. Medical researchers tell us that the injured tissue creates a chemical called bradykinin. Bradykinin is the most potent pain-producing substance known. Bradykinin has a greater purpose than simply making your paper cut miserable. Bradykinin sets off a complex chain of chemical reactions that are important in healing your wound. In the process, bradykinin also links to nerve cells, causing them to send pain messages to your brain.

Scientists have begun to develop bradykinin blockers. These chemicals are designed to bind to the nerve cells in place of the bradykinin, preventing bradykinin from sending pain messages. As a result, pain is blocked at the source.

Sometimes, and in certain ways, a certain amount of pain is a good thing. It keeps us from over-doing when we are injured, so that our bodies can heal. That, too, has a spiritual counterpart.

Pain is a reality in our world because of sin. It not only warns us of injury but it reminds us of the ultimate consequences of sin. God has control of all things, and, like a parent, He may let us make our own mistakes. Like a mother bear, who allows her cub to take an adventure inspecting a skunk, or porcupine, in order to learn to avoid them later in life, after enduring the pain and discomfort. For the same reason, sometimes our heavenly Father will allow us to make some mistakes in life.

He most certainly will, sometime in our lives, actually bring a trial onto us, so that we will learn to rely upon Him and get to know Him. He promises us in His Word that it is always controlled:

1Corinthians 10:13 ~ ~  “No temptation (or trial) has overtaken you except something common to mankind; and God is faithful, so He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.”

As someone said, He is like the refiner of gold, carefully watching the consistency of the metal and the temperature of the fire, for the best result without any damage——ending with the most precious metal.

He also reminds us that He will be with us in the trial—that is the important part, because, besides giving us strength to bear it, it is a chance to draw closer to Him in our pain.

We can trust Him—-completely—-always—-for everything!

And thanks be to God, who sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to bear the pain of our disobedience on the cross so that we might have the forgiveness of sins!
