GOD’S WORD FOR NOVEMBER 17 ~ ~ Genesis 1:25~ ~ “And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creeps upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.”

The assassin bug uses a combination of camouflage and baiting which is totally unknown to any other creature. Just like war tactics and wayside outlaws, there are creatures even in the insect world who have a plan for their strategy.

The assassin bug glues bits of termite nest to himself using fluid from special glands in his body. This termite nest material is his camouflage as he performs his work at the nest. By the time he is done, no part of his body will be showing.

Sneaking, unnoticed, to an opening in the nest, the assassin bug waits for some hapless termite to come by. Having captured his first victim and drained it of body fluids, the assassin bug now takes his victim and waves it near the nest opening. Seeing the corpse, a worker moves forward. As he does so, the assassin bug slowly draws his bait back, luring the worker further from the protection of the nest. Suddenly, the assassin bug grabs his new victim and discards the old one. Victim number two will become bait for victim number three. In one such operation, researchers watched as one assassin bug continued this for three hours, killing 31 termites!

The way in which the assassin bug makes his living demonstrates a great deal of intelligence. The assassin bug is yet another example of the fact that intelligence doesn’t have anything to do with evolution – rather, it is a gift of the Creator to His creatures.

Romans 8:19 ~ ~ “for earnest expectation of the creature waits for the manifestation of the sons of God.”

Job 5:9 ~ ~ “He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.”

NOVEMBER 16 ~ ~ Genesis 2:8 ~ ~ “The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed.”

When they flower, some plants actually generate their own heat. The Wild Cabbage does this, and also the voodoo lily. This flower can raise its temperature by 25 degrees. As it does so, it releases a scent that attracts the beetles that pollinate it.

When the voodoo lily generates heat, it burns starch in a way similar to our own bodies. Scientists weren’t sure how voodoo lilies generated their heat and scent until only a couple decades ago. Once they unraveled the complex chemical reactions going on within the plant, they found unexpected surprises. They discovered that a component of aspirin is responsible for raising the lily’s temperature. They remain puzzled about why salicylic acid should lower our temperature, yet raise the temperature of the plant.

Scientists were also amazed when they discovered how many separate complex chemical reactions take place to produce a chemical symphony that helps the lily reproduce. Not only does the lily make its own aspirin, it also makes the same chemicals that are found in the rotting meat that its pollinator beetles feed on. The rising temperature of the plant evaporates the chemicals, creating a scent that attracts the beetles. As the beetles look for food in the flower, they become covered with pollen, which will be delivered to the next lily they visit.

The voodoo lily is an example of how, even in the plant kingdom, there is no such thing as a simple life form. As this plant duplicates several of the processes taking place in animals, we see that all life was created at about the same time by one Designer!

It’s easy to see that the Creator of all things, and the Great Provider, Jehovah Jireh, has, and will continue, to provide everything we need, as we look to Him.

The Lord bestows grace and favor and honor;
No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”

Psalm 40:17 ~ ~ “Even though I am afflicted and needy,
Still the Lord takes thought and is mindful of me.
You are my help and my rescuer. Oh my God, do not delay.”

Ps 37:25-26 ~ ~ “I have been young and now I am old,
Yet I have not seen the righteous (those in right standing with God) abandoned
Or his descendants pleading for bread. 
All day long he is gracious and lends,
And his descendants are a blessing.”

GOD’S WORD FOR NOVEMBER 15 ~ ~Revelation 3:18 ~ ~ “…and anoint your eyes with eyesalve, that you may see.”

Man has always treasured his ability to see. And since man was created as a highly intelligent creature, rather than a simple primitive, it seems that man has practiced eye surgery as far back as we have records.

Eye surgery is no more a modern development than malpractice penalties. Ancient Egyptian eye doctors applied various kinds of salves to the eye. Some of their stranger salves contained mud from the Nile river and crocodile dung. Before you laugh, you should know that modern eye specialists admit that these strange ingredients may have contained effective antibodies to relieve infections. Eye surgeons were busy in India six or eight centuries before the birth of Christ. A surgeon named Susruta performed a surgery in which he pushed an opaque lens that sits behind the pupil of the eye into the interior of the eyeball; there, the lens would no longer block vision.

The oldest record of eye surgery, however, dates to 4,000 years ago. The Code of Hammurabi said that the surgeon who saved a man’s eye was to be paid the same fee that was given to a doctor who saved a man’s life. On the other hand, if the surgeon caused the eye to be lost, the law required the surgeon’s fingers to be cut off.

History records that man has always been an intelligent creature with a surprising amount of knowledge. Although sometimes some has been lost, knowledge is a gift from God.

Proverbs 18:15 ~ ~ “The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge, And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.”

1Samuel 2:3 ~ ~ “Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the Lord is the God of knowledge; And by Him actions are weighed.”

Psalm 19:2 ~ ~ “Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge.”

Psalm 94:10 ~ ~ “He who instructs the nations, shall He not correct, He who teaches man knowledge?”

Psalm 119:66 ~ ~ “Teach me good judgment and knowledge, For I believe Your commandments.”

GOD’S WORD FOR NOVEMBER 13 ~ ~ Genesis 1:20~ ~ “And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.”

Today, hummingbirds are found only in North, Central and South America. Of course, since Noah’s Ark landed in the mountains of Ararat, they had to cross Europe and the Atlantic or Asia to get there. However, until now, there was no evidence for this migration.

Scientists have now discovered two hummingbird fossils in a clay pit in southwestern Germany. These tiny fossils are remarkable in many ways. The fossils suggest that these older birds are fully functional hummingbirds. Their wing bones are like those of modern hummingbirds, which suggest that they could hover and fly backward just like the hummingbirds we know today. Their beaks were twice as long as their skulls, suggesting that they drank nectar just like modern hummingbirds. In other words, there is no sign of any evolutionary development, another blow to the atheists.

While the evidence for the history of hummingbirds is what we would expect, we do not need scientific evidence to uphold scriptural truth. We have God’s Word on it, and God cannot lie, nor can He make a mistake.

GOD’S WORD FOR NOVEMBER 14 ~ ~ Psalm 25:17-18 ~ ~ “The troubles of my heart are enlarged: Oh, bring me out of my distresses. Look upon my affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.”

The aspirin tablet has been hailed as the miracle drug of the twentieth century. Although it took the twentieth century to flavor, coat and stamp little letters on aspirin, people have been using aspirin for centuries. The most common form in which aspirin has been taken is as willow bark tea.

Aspirin has relieved billions of headaches and brought nearly as many fevers under control over the years. In recent years, aspirin has become even more important since studies have shown that as little as half an aspirin per day can help prevent heart attacks.

Despite its long standing use in medicine, physicians had no idea how aspirin worked until a few decades ago. Researchers now know that aspirin does not simply mask the pain of a headache, but it chemically turns off the cause of the average headache. It does this by deactivating the chemical made by the blood vessels that causes them to constrict. Another member of that same family of chemicals, called prostaglandins, prevents blood platelets from sticking together, helping blood to flow more freely and preventing heart attacks. This is also why aspirin can cause stomach bleeding.

In His foreknowledge, our Creator knew, regretfully, that the human race would fall into sin. He knew that among the effects of a world changed by sin would be pain and sickness. So in His mercy He provided plants that would make the active ingredient in aspirin. But the greatest expression of His love for us was in providing us with a cure for the worst and deadliest ailment of mankind—-sin, only through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ.

If it wasn’t for sin, we wouldn’t have headaches, or any pain, old age, death, nor rot or sadness of any kind. Jesus came to die for our individual sins, and if we accept that, and live for Him alone, knowing we cannot earn our way to heaven in any way, we will live forever in that perfect world with Him.

Revelation 21:4

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your sacrifice of pain and deprivation for us. Thank You for Your victory over death and satan, by which we will benefit if we accept it. Thank You for being with us always, guarding, guiding, growing, and gracing us with Your peace. We will praise You forever.

GOD’S WORD FOR NOVEMBER 12 ~ ~ John 1:1~ ~ “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

One ancient language is so logical and precisely structured that it is being used to create a programming language that a computer can understand. Unlike most languages of the world, this language has few irregular verbs, no prepositions and almost no exceptions to strict grammatical rules. What would take a long sentence to say in most languages can be said in only a few words in this language.

One would think that we are talking about a new language, carefully designed and crafted by modern scientists. But this language, called Aymara, has been spoken by peasants in the Andes for 4,000 years! Because of its highly logical structure, Aymara is being used as a bridge language that enables computers to translate one language to another.

Since 1986, a computer has been using Aymara to translate Spanish technical and legal documents into English in the office of the Panama Canal Commission. This amazing computer can translate a 60,000 word document with 80 percent accuracy in only an hour. The final product must then be reviewed by a translator.

Generally speaking, modern languages are less logically structured and more irregular and often cannot express as many shades of meaning as can ancient languages. In other words, as we go back in time, languages are not less structured and less expressive; they are more highly structured and more expressive than today’s languages. This is powerful evidence that language has not come from grunting cavemen, but from the Creator Himself!

Christians as individuals as well as those determining doctrine of denominations, need to get back to the True Word of God, and stop listening to the world with its lies. Throw out the long-taught mind pictures of cavemen, trudging along with deformed, bare feet, and unintelligent minds, and read Genesis, chapters 1-10. God does not lie!!! If He did, He would not be God.

Every one of the other books of the Bible refers back to some part of Genesis 1-10, the creation chapters. That is where every doctrine of the true Christian faith comes from, and our belief about those foundational chapters is what will ultimately determine our eternal destiny—-absolutely and literally.

Heavenly Father, please open the eyes of readers of these daily writings, to know that You and Your Word are absolutely perfect, and that their very destiny hangs on those words. Open the eyes of their hearts to see You, in Your perfection, power, wisdom, love, grace, and peace. When They know You and Your dear Son, they will understand Your written Word, which is Jesus Christ, the Living Word……….one in the same!!!!! May they understand!!! I boldly come to Your throne and ask this because of the sacrifice and intercession of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and ask it in His name. AMEN
