GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 18

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 18 ~ ~ 2 Peter 2:4-5~ ~ “For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast [them] down to hell, and delivered [them] into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; and spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth [person], a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly…”

Many of the features of the Earth’s surface have been formed by the cutting and eroding action of moving water. When you think about how hard rock is compared to water, it’s easy to believe that it must have taken hundreds of thousands or even millions of years for water to shape the land. This ignorance about how rapidly water cuts rock has cost people their lives.

In April 1987 a 300 foot section of the 540 foot long New York Thruway Bridge collapsed into the Choharie Creek. The moving waters of the creek had created turbulence around the bridge’s pilings. Within a few years, this turbulence cut away the rock in which the pilings were anchored, and with nothing to hold it up, the bridge collapsed.

In June 1987 a section of the 2,800 foot long Clearwater Pass Bridge in Florida dropped 10 inches. Divers sent down to inspect the bridge pilings found that more than 10 feet of rock had been scoured away from the bridge’s pilings. Similar instances of moving water cutting away solid rock in a short period of time can be found by dams.

When many of these structures were built, it was assumed that it took tens of thousands of years for water to erode solid rock. But experience has now shown us that water is able to do in a few years or even a few hours what scientists once thought took thousands or millions of years. Another lesson to be learned is that we don’t need tens of thousands of years to form the water carved features of our Earth, as the propaganda of evolution tells us and our children.

They were done in a very short time—in minutes to days, at the most one year—during the worldwide flood.

The power of water is depicted in the Bible, and the fact that God is in control of everything in nature, and everything in our lives. Sometimes He manipulates the forces of nature, (which obey His laws given from the days of Creation) to cause the effects He desires for our betterment, and for His glory.

It isn’t difficult to imagine the changes made in the surface of the earth during the flood. The mountains were covered by a lot of space, and the waves caused by the entire earth being under that much water, did unbelievable erosion and dumping of dirt in various places. Mountains crumbled, ocean bottoms were filled in, and huge crevices were made all over the earth. The power of huge amounts of water is difficult for us to understand.

Even if we don’t agree, or understand, still…….it is He who does it, and it is true that ……

Romans 8:28

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Psalm 42:7

“Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have passed over me.”

Genesis 6:17

“And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.”

Genesis 7:19

“And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.”

Genesis 7:24

“And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.”

Job 14:19 “The waters wear the stones …”

Job 37:10

“By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened”.

Job 38:25

“Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;”

Job 14:18

“And surely the mountains falling come to nothing, and the rock is removed out of his place.”

Job 28:9

“He puts forth his hand upon the rock; he overturns the mountains by the roots.”

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 17

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 17 ~ ~ “Matthew 13:17 ~ ~ “For truly I say to you that many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.”

We were talking about sight yesterday. Today, there is an interesting story about sight.

We’ve heard of people talking to their plants, but can the plants hear? I don’t know if that has been studied, but studies have shown that some can see! Some algaes can see AND swim!

These plants were found to have eyespots. That means a patch of membrane with about 100,000 pigment molecules. They “swim”—move in the water and react to objects as a sighted creature.

Further study found that they possess the same chemical that makes our vision possible. It’s called rhodopsin, and it is found to be responsible for sight in cows also.

While that isn’t sensational from our point of view, when we believe that one Creator created all three creatures, it is a real thorn in the side of the scientists who tout evolutionary teachings. This just isn’t right in their plan!!!!

Our Creator is wise. When He wanted to give the ability to see to His creatures, He used the same basic principle whether He was making algae, cows or humans. The fact that He did not use a simpler method to make so-called “simpler” creatures see is yet another way in which His handiwork witnesses against evolution.

God gives spiritual sight to everyone alike also. He is no respecter of persons, — Acts 10:34

“Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:”

In other words, kings, rulers, paupers, beautiful people, not-so-beautiful people, super-intelligent people, average people—He doesn’t treat anyone differently. He sees the heart. That’s all He judges us on.

Matthew 6:21

“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”

Genesis 20:6 “…Yes, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart;….”

Matthew 9:4

“And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Why do you think evil in your hearts?”

Acts 1:24

“And they prayed, and said, You, Lord, who knows the hearts of all men, show which of these two You have chosen,”

We can assess our own hearts by studying the Word, because:

Hebrews 4:12

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

In anticipation of Christ’s coming, the prophesies told of His miracles—both physical and spiritual.

Isaiah 29:18 ~ ~ “And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.”

When Jesus made the blind to see, and the deaf to hear, the mute to speak, and the lame to walk, it was out of compassion for each person, but it was also, in the bigger picture, a sign of the real reason that He came.

He wanted them to see that He came to give spiritual sight, hearing, speech, strength, and understanding to us, so that we can speak the truths that we learned, and walk in the Spirit in this life.

Even more than that, when He brought individuals back to life, it was a sign of our dead spirits, which were dead since the fall of mankind back in the Garden of Eden, which are “quickened”, or brought back to life, when the Holy Spirit comes and makes us a new creation in Christ Jesus.

This only comes about when we hear and respond to the Gospel, accepting the substitution and Lordship of Jesus in our hearts and lives.

Ephesians 2:1

“And you has he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins”

Ephesians 2:5

“Even when we were dead in sins, he has quickened us together with Christ, (by grace you are saved;)”

1 Peter 3:18

“For Christ also has once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:”

When our bodies die from this life, our spirits do not die. If we are one of His, our spirits go directly to heaven. As Paul simply puts it:

2 Cor. 5:6-8 ~ ~ “Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord—for we walk by faith, not by sight—but we are of good courage and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.”

This is a foundational verse of our faith.

We can know this is true because Jesus was physically resurrected, which was a “down payment” or a fore-shadowing of what He promised those who believe, that we will be resurrected to glorious bodies to connect to our quickened and never-dying spirits which are waiting in heaven!!

That’s why He could say to Martha,

John 11:25-26 ~ ~ “ Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life; the one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?’ ”

The question I ask you is the same as Jesus asked Martha ~ ~

DO YOU BELIEVE THIS? Your eternal life depends upon it.

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 16

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARAY 16 ~ ~ “Ps 27:13 ~ ~ I would have despaired had I not believed that I would SEE the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

Eyes are a fantastic creation. All the different parts of your eyes work together to help you see.

First, light passes through the cornea (the clear front layer of the eye). The cornea is shaped like a dome and bends light to help the eye focus.

Some of this light enters the eye through an opening called the pupil. The iris (the colored part of the eye) controls how much light the pupil lets in.

Next, light passes through the lens (a clear inner part of the eye). The lens works together with the cornea to focus light correctly on the retina.

The lens of the eye is a marvel of chemistry. It is made up of a concentration of protein molecules inside water-lined cells. Normal protein molecules in water are not transparent. They are opaque. But our great Creator-God solved the obvious problem with opaque proteins in the eye. He packed the proteins extremely tight, which causes the proteins to act something like the molecules of window glass. As a result, the normally opaque protein solution in the lens becomes transparent!

When light hits the retina (a light-sensitive layer of tissue at the back of the eye), special cells called photo-receptors turn the light into electrical signals.

These electrical signals travel from the retina through the optic nerve to the brain. Then the brain turns the signals into the images you see.

Your eyes also need tears to work correctly.

Tears keep your eyes wet and smooth, and help focus light so you can see clearly. They also protect your eyes from infections and irritating things, like dirt and dust.

Every time you blink, a thin layer of tears called a “tear film” spreads across the surface of your cornea. Tears come from glands above your eyes, then drain into your tear ducts (small holes in the inner corners of your eyes) and down through your nose.

They have three functions, and three layers:

The outer layer is oily, and keeps the tears from drying out too quickly, like they would if they were all water, and the oil also lubricates the surface of the eyes and makes them smooth, thus reducing irritation from blinking.

The next layer is watery, to keep the eyes moist. It contains nourishment for the eye tissues to function properly.

The inner layer is mucus, which helps the other layers stick to the surface of the eye to perform their respective functions.

Since almost every animal has vision, there are many variations, and additional qualities, in a cross section of creation, depending upon, of course, the needs of the animal.

There is another sight that the Lord gives only to His born again believers. It is the sight to know God.

Before that, we are like the apostles that Jesus was speaking to in this verse:

Mark 8:18

Having eyes, do you not see, and having ears, do you not hear? and do you not remember?

But later, He said to those same men:

Mark 4:11

And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

And after He died and rose, they were able to say:

1John 4:14 ~ ~ We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

This is seen, not through our physical eyes, but through our spirits, which are made alive through the power of the Holy Spirit when we become aware of the sacrifice and substitution that Jesus made for us, and acknowledge Him as the Lord of our lives.

1 John 4:12

No one has ever seen God; (with physical eyes) if we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is perfected in us.

1 John 3:17

But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother or sister in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God remain in him?

1 John 3:6

No one who remains in Him sins continually; no one who sins continually has seen Him or knows Him.

Once that miracle happens, we are a new creation, and we begin to be able to understand the things of God, and understand the words of Jesus that He spoke to us in the Bible. This is because the Holy Spirit lives in us from that point on. Jesus told His apostles (and us) in:

But this world, and the blessings that we receive from having a relationship with our Creator and Savior in this life,….the wisdom, peace, joy, mercy and grace He gives us, to name a few, are just a tiny taste of what we will experience for eternity IF we are one of His, relying completely on Him for our eternal destiny, and not on any supposed goodness of our own: —because we have none!

Romans 3:23

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 3:12

They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, no, not one.

So, besides knowing that He has won our eternity in the new heavens and new and perfect earth with Him, we can look forward to eternity in what will be the garden of Eden again. He will have brought mankind full circle and eliminated sin and the effects of it that have gone on for 4,000 or so years.

We can’t see we can’t even imagine, how wonderful that will be—-forever and ever, and ever……………

1 John 3:2

Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.

1 Corinthians 13:12

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

1 Corinthians 2:9 ~ ~ But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him.

THANK YOU AND PRAISE YOU LORD JESUS CHRIST, ELOHIM, OUR CREATOR-GOD, JEHOVAH ELOHIM YESHUA—THE LORD, GOD OF OUR SALVATION; JEHOVAH TSIDKENU—LORD GOD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS; PLEASE DRAW ALL THOSE WHO ARE CALLED TO SEE YOUR GLORY!!! WE ASK THIS THROUGH OUR SAVIOR YESHUA, JESUS CHRIST, OUR LORD.

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 15

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 15 ~ ~ Philippians 2:12 ~ ~ “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

WHAT DID JESUS DO ON THE CROSS?

Here is what Dr. R. G. LEE reminds us that He did:

JESUS BECAME THE SON OF MAN SO WE COULD BECOME THE CHILDREN OF GOD

HE BECAME SIN THAT WE MIGHT BE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD THROUGH HIM

HE BECAME POOR THAT WE MIGHT BE MADE RICH

HE BECAME A PARTAKER OF OUR HUMAN NATURE SO THAT WE MAY BECOME PARTAKERS OF HIS DIVINE NATURE

HE WAS BORN IN A MANGER SO WE COULD LIVE IN A MANSION

HE WAS HOMELESS SO WE COULD HAVE ETERNAL HABITATIONS

HE WAS CONDEMNED SO THAT WE COULD BE JUSTIFIED

HE BECAME A SERVANT SO THAT WE MAY BECOME KINGS AND PRIESTS WITH GOD

HE WAS STRIPPED OF HIS CLOTHES SO THAT WE MAY BE CLOTHED IN HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS

HE WAS CUT OFF SO THAT WE MAY BE BROUGHT NIGH

HE ENTERED INTO THE REALM OF DARKNESS SO THAT WE COULD ENTER INTO THE REALM OF HIS ETERNAL LIGHT.

HE BECAME LIKE US SO WE COULD BECOME LIKE HIM.

********************* *********************************

Let’s think about each one of these things, and praise Him for salvation, then go and “work out our salvation” in the world!!!!!

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 14

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 14 ~ ~ Romans 1:16 Amp ~ “I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation [from His wrath and punishment] to everyone who believes [in Christ as Savior],…”

Evolutionists say that since the world is an orderly place with predictable physical laws, we know that miracles can’t happen. And they’re right that it is orderly, but not on their deduction from that. It is precisely because the world is an orderly place with predictable physical laws that miracles are important.

How do they think the world got it’s orderly physical laws? They don’t have a clue, but we know Who put them in place. The Bible clearly teaches that the world follows orderly laws. For example, Genesis 1:11 tells us that plants reproduce in an orderly, predictable pattern – after their kind. In Genesis 1:14 we read about how the stars move across the sky in an orderly pattern so that we can tell what season it is. And if the world was not an orderly, predictable place, we couldn’t tell if something was a miracle or not. In a world where things are chaotic, we wouldn’t recognize a miracle.

The New Testament calls them signs, or signposts, that point to the Creator. Both the order and the signs for seasons and times, and the diversions from these predictable things, are the result of creation by the Master Designer.

So the very reason evolutionists use to deny the existence of miracles is really the arrow pointing to the Master Creator, Elohim.

But, someone may ask, what difference does all this make, who cares how things were created?

It makes all the difference for eternity. It’s the reason God gives for no one being excused from believing for salvation, …..from knowing Jesus Christ, through, and by whom all things were created, even if they didn’t hear the gospel message.

He has put a need and basic knowledge of Himself into every human. It is our choice to grow that or stifle it. We are individually responsible for that decision, and our eternity depends upon it.

The beauty and orderliness of Creation is designed to trigger that need and awareness in us, and, if we don’t stifle it, we will recognize that He made that for our benefit and for His Glory. That is why something about Creation is mentioned in EVERY book of the Bible. We are constantly reminded that He is trying to reach us through His creation.

Paul tells us that in Romans 1:18-20 Amp.

“For [God does not overlook sin and] the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who in their wickedness suppress and stifle the truth, because that which is known about God is evident within them [in their inner consciousness], for God made it evident to them. For ever since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through His workmanship [all His creation, the wonderful things that He has made], so that they [who fail to believe and trust in Him] are without excuse and without defense.

Romans 11:36 ~ “For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever.”

Don’t let the evolutionists teach our children their lies. Creation IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Pray that the next generations will recognize Jesus Christ’s great work of creation and of redemption of mankind!!!!

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 13

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 13 ~ ~ 1 Chronicles 16:42a~ ~ “And with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should make a sound, and with musical instruments of God.”

God has created some talented creatures, in all areas. Some put us humans to shame. There is a frog in Borneo that does just that—-at least for me, since I can’t, (as the old saying goes) “carry a tune in a bushel basket”, this frog stays right on pitch, changing with the instrument he’s using.

Not only man makes musical instruments. This talented frog does too!

Research shows that this frog searches out specific tree-holes filled with water. It is from such holes that the frog sits in the water and sings its song to attract females. Of course, these cavities and the amount of water in them vary from tree to tree, providing differing resonances from hole to hole. To deal with this, the frogs have been observed raising and lowering their pitch until they get a resonance. Once they find resonance, the song really begins.

To test this, researchers placed a frog inside a pipe where they could change the water level, thus changing the resonance pitch. Every time they changed the water level, the frog would search for and find the new resonance pitch.

Evolutionary theory would never predict that a frog would learn how to use something in its environment as a musical instrument. However, the Bible says that music is a gift from our Creator, Who can give it to any creature He wants.

We are told to use instruments to praise the Lord, as well as singing.

Psalm 98:5

Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, With the lyre and the sound of melody.

Exodus 15:20

Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took the tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dancing.

2 Samuel 6:5

Meanwhile, David and all the house of Israel were celebrating before the Lord with all kinds of instruments made of juniper wood, and with lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets, and cymbals.

To really praise the Lord, we need more than an organ! In fact, we need more than all these things.

Without true worship, they are just “clanging cymbals” (1Corinthians 13).

Praise has to come from us—from our very beings—from our lifestyle, —–from our attitude toward Christ and our fellow believers—-from our love for non believers—-from our desire to save the lost—–from our prayers and witnessing to the lost——-from our study of the Word—-from our obedience to every Word put forth from the Word of God….from our giving of money and time to the Kingdom of God……from our forgiveness of those who hurt us—-from our gentle word to those who are hurting—-from our guidance in the Word to those who are asking——from our deep-hearted repentance—-from our constant prayer and knowledge that Jesus is with us constantly, asking us to talk to Him about everything…..from our living by faith, knowing that when we don’t, it is a sin because we’re putting ourselves on the throne instead of Him,…..knowing that He is in control of EVERYTHING in our little lives, and the entire creation, including the rulers of nations……….from our total submission to and dependence upon, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for EVERYTHING.

Young man staying with raised hands against blue sky

THAT is what praise consists of, besides using the gifts, talents, and guidance He gives some, that are obvious in outward worship which is so pleasing to the heart of God, and should contain all the inward things besides!

God has made it possible for those of us who aren’t musical to still worship Him with a ten-stringed instrument!

LIKE THIS:

“O Lord, I will praise You with the instrument of ten strings.

I will praise You with my TWO EYES. I will look only to You.

I will praise You by exalting You with my TWO EARS. I will listen only to Your voice.

I will extol You with the work of my TWO HANDS. I will work in Your service wherever You direct.

I will honor You with my TWO FEET. I will walk in Your statutes, and I will go wherever You lead.

I will magnify Your Holy Name with my TONGUE. I will testify constantly to Your loving-kindness.

I will worship You with my HEART. I will love only You, and I will receive all the unconditional love You pour out in Your mercy, grace, and forgiveness.

I thank You, Lord, for the ten-stringed instrument that You built into my being. Please keep me in tune and play upon me as You will. Please ring out the melodies of Your grace. May the harmony of my praise song bring pleasure to You and Glory to Your name. AMEN”

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 12

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 12 (PART 2) ~ ~ 2 CHRON 7:13-14~ ~“If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

We heard a lot about this the last few years, and hopefully Christians are responding. But, do we know what’s involved in this?

“Wicked ways” are not just sins. It isn’t enough to repent of known sins, and say some prayers for our nation.

“Wicked ways” means lifestyle, attitude, priorities, not only individual sins. It means living the transformation that took place when we were saved. It means living as that new creation that we have become.

Many Christians (not all, of course) are not doing that. Time with the Lord is not a priority. They think church and nightly prayers are enough.

If we want change in this nation, it has to begin in the True Church, the Bride of Christ. As Scripture says,

1 Peter 4:17

“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”

We have made the government an idol.

If the people as a whole, and individuals, have problems, who is expected to fix it? THE GOVERNMENT! Who has lied to the people and promises to fix everything? THE GOVERNMENT! Who is actually working for the anti-christ, and full time AGAINST the God of the Universe? THE GOVERNMENT!

THIS is why God has put America under His divine judgment, not merely because of what we see today, but the slide that’s been moving under our feet for hundreds of years in this nation, and the people were too happy with life as it was to disrupt it, so God went to the back burner of their mind. Going to church on Sunday was enough to quiet their conscience.

When people my age were in high school, we were somewhat aware of that. The Daughters of the American Revolution had an essay contest every year for high school girls. I remember one particular year the subject was entitled “Dangers of a Complacent America”. As I wrote it, something opened up in me, that this is indeed serious, and we MUST reverse it. It was and is intensely serious. But even that didn’t get to the heart of the problem. It was going down the wrong street to get to the destination we desired. We were still bypassing full and deep repentance.

The government wouldn’t be able to take control if the Church was doing its job, and not accepting the gifts and bribes of this world, and, instead, standing her ground on this earth in the name of Jesus. But, for the most part, she has relinquished her role of educating the next generation, and standing firm on law and justice in society. Many Christians have even bought the lie that we aren’t supposed to speak up in the government, nor do they think it’s necessary to vote. That is very dangerous and against the principles of the Almighty, especially now, when it is not just economic and political issues at stake, but the very essence of justice and righteousness.

Our God is being mocked before our eyes and many are just shaking their heads and going on with their lives.

All this is hideous to God, and yet, in His grace and mercy, He has not yet acted. But it is not without it’s fallen. Many have missed salvation because their focus is wrong. The sight direction is inward instead of upward.

Just because God seemed to be silent, doesn’t mean he was winking at it. He’s not a smiling grandfather saying, “boys will be boys”…..but while He is slow to anger,

He is totally righteous, and America will not escape judgment, and, indeed, it has started.

It could be that this nation, and this world system, have gone too far for the Almighty to stop the judgment. If so, this would probably be because He knows the repentance won’t happen, ….that the entire human race has reached Romans 1:28:

“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;”

But we don’t know that. We must keep praying and living it out.

Also, it is imperative that each individual citizen repent of the idolatry and selfishness, and truly turn to Him again. If He goes on with the judgment of nations at this time, He will still shower mercy and grace of truly repentant individuals.

And maybe, just maybe, this nation and world can be another Nineveh (Jonah 3:5-10)

“ Then the people of Nineveh believed in God; and they called a fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them.  When the word reached the king of Nineveh, he got up from his throne, removed his robe from himself, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat on the dust.  And he issued a proclamation, and it said, “In Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles: No person, animal, herd, or flock is to taste anything. They are not to eat, or drink water. But every person and animal must be covered with sackcloth; and people are to call on God vehemently, and they are to turn, each one from his evil way, and from the violence which is in their hands. Who knows, God may turn and relent, and turn from His burning anger so that we will not perish.’

When God saw their deeds, that they turned from their evil way, then God relented of the disaster which He had declared He would bring on them. So He did not do it.”

The Book of Revelation describes the end times, (which looks a lot like this) which will, for sure, come. But, like everything else, it’s all in God’s hands and His timing. However, He reacts to our actions and attitudes. He is watching.

Our individual futures depend upon what we do NOW!

The futures of our children and grandchildren depend upon what they are taught NOW!!!

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 11

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 11 ~ ~ PART ONE ~ ~ Isaiah 9:16

“For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.”

Jeremiah 1:16

“And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.”

It is clear that the United States is under the judgment of God for her many many evil sins. This nation has been slapping the Almighty across the face. It is as bad or worse than Sodom, Nineveh, or the tower or Babel, yet, He is holding His wrath. We are on the edge, and we need to pay attention!!!

Pride is rampant in our society, and is the mother of all sins. That was Lucifer’s sin. While I wouldn’t put any man on the level of Lucifer, there are many other avenues for pride..

Finding reasons not to submit totally to Jesus Christ to accept His substitution for us for our punishment is a result of pride. That’s seeing oneself as good enough to make it to heaven alone, without His intervention. If that were possible, why did He suffer and die? This is idol worship. It is worshipping ourselves.

Part of that is poor foundational teaching. Many people think that just “being human”, committing small sins, that God will wink at, as long as we don’t do the big ones. Some churches teach that. We have to study the Word and meditate on the attributes of God. Many church teachings have minimized Him, and attempted to bring Him down to our level to avoid the fear of judgment for sin.

His ways are so far above our ways, we can’t begin to imagine them, much less understand them. But we DO need to obey Him, and we are without excuse for not doing that.

Romans 3:23

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

That general thought (that we are “good enough” to get to heaven) opens the door to a certain internal haughtiness that we maybe aren’t aware of, but that speaks loudly to the ears of the Almighty. It’s idolatry, the worship of a false god—-and that false God is ourselves. Idolatry was dealt with awe-ful terror in times past, and God never changes.

Isaiah 2:11

“The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.”

Our society teaches the haughtiness to our children from youngsters….First, that they are so good, and important in and of themselves. We are valuable, not because of ourselves, but because we are made in the image of God, and because He loved us enough, despite our rejection of Him, to suffer and die for us.

Children are taught that their looks, their bodies, their likes and dislikes, their social status, all are raised as monuments to the idol of self. They are told, “You can be anything you want to be.” “You can do anything you want to do”

None of these are Biblical teachings. They are pumping up their sense of pride.

We do children a terrible disservice to pump up their selfishness like this. We are making it difficult, if not impossible, for them to submit to their Creator and Savior, having been raised to such a lofty level themselves in their own eyes by their adults.

In God’s Word, however, we are told to esteem others as better than ourselves, to seek the will of God in our lives, not our own, and that we can do all things, not of ourselves, but through Christ. in:

Philippians 2:3

“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.”

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Read these verses, and compare to what the world system teaches the younger generation. They are hearing lies everyday!!!

Many Christians are just shaking their heads, saying how terrible things are getting, but they’re doing nothing to bring their lives totally into submission to the Word of God. That’s all it will take, if EACH Christian will do that!

This nation will be judged if the Church doesn’t turn things around. This is up to EACH ONE OF US……….we MUST get back to the Word of God!!!!

PART 2 TOMORROW

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 10

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 10 ~ ~ 1 Peter 5:8~ ~ “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour…”

A real monster prowls the ocean floor from the Aleutian Islands to Southern California. It is a terror to even relatively large bottom dwellers. It eats many things, including hermit crabs, clams, sea cucumbers, sea urchins and even abalone. This monster goes by the seemingly innocent name of the Sunflower Star.

The Sunflower Star begins life as a microscopic larva, much like other sea stars. But as it grows, it surpasses anything that other sea stars can achieve. Its five arms become more arms as it grows until it finally has 24 arms. By this time it can be 39 inches across. But its size does not limit its speed. It uses 15,000 tube feet to move over 5 feet per minute. This is possible because, like other sea stars, the Sunflower Star’s skeleton is made up of just a few pieces of skeletal mesh, making it more flexible. It is such a terror to other creatures that when they sense its approach they flee at surprising speed. Even the Northern Abalone, which normally moves sluggishly, flees in the hope that the Sunflower Star will not capture it.

Spiritually, we have an enemy with many arms, so to speak. He will reach into many areas of our lives with deception, while affecting other people in our lives to work out his evil schemes to keep us from achieving our full potential in our walk with the Lord, or to be saved if we’re not.

The following is addressed to those who know the Lord, who have acknowledged Him as Lord and Savior.

Like the starfish’s potential prey, we need to run from his lies. Run to take time with the Lord Jesus, and in his Word and promises. It’s a good idea to put promises on cards, so they’re easy to find when we need them. And, need them we will! We all do, because the enemy never gives up, but our Savior doesn’t either. He is always there to show us the Truth and comfort us.

When you get depressed, aggravated, or you have that “dark” and uncomfortable feeling deep inside, and you don’t know what it is, that could be the lion “coming a’callin’”

1 Peter 5:8 tells us who and why and what we can do about it:

“Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”

We need to talk to Jesus, but at those times, we need to first confess to Him any sins and repent of them before anything else. Then we also may need to talk to the enemy, but ONLY using the Word of God. Never think that you can talk to him in your own strength or wit. That’s why we need the verses handy. Even when Jesus was tempted, all He did was use the Word, even though He certainly could say what He wanted. That was to show us how to act.

The promises and praise will send the enemy fleeing from you, and you’ll feel the peace that only Jesus can give.

Ephesians 6 is the armor chapter. Vs 10-18 sum it up:

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.  Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit, …”

  1. stand firm with the belt of truth—-against the schemes—whatever he is telling you, (whatever thoughts come into your mind that you know don’t sound good compared to the Bible) find a verse to show him that you know he’s lying. “it is written” This will take time in the Word, which will build your faith and your relationship with Jesus.
  2. If he is accusing you of sin, if old confessed sins keep coming up in your mind in guilt, use the breastplate of righteousness—First repent to the Lord Jesus any known sins, then show the enemy that you know in your heart that you have the forgiveness and righteousness of Christ, not your own righteousness. (It is said that the devil is the weakest against the most humble saint.) This is done by the WORD OF GOD, knowing that it’s all about Jesus, and not us. Again, tell the devil that “it is written”. This is where the cards can come in for easy access.
  3. Preparation of the gospel of peace…..Have a knowledge of how salvation comes about, so you can tell others. Sometimes he will use unbelievers to try to bring doubt to our minds. Be prepared to turn it around and tell them about salvation through Christ alone. As you do, you’ll be putting on the helmet of salvation to protect your own faith in your salvation, and the shield of faith, that you know that salvation is of Christ alone, as you show others. The shield snuffs out the fiery arrows that were intended for our heart, to make us feel weak, and to question our own salvation and the truth of the Word. The lying arrows are distinguished and broken by faith. How do we get the faith? We’re told that “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God”….THE WORD OF GOD is always the answer!
  1. The only offensive weapon in the armor is the sword of the Spirit which is the WORD OF GOD—- that is the weapon that always defeats the devil.

It’s not always attacks on our stand on our own salvation, it is sometimes temptation to do what we know is wrong. Again, Jesus is always there, and you need to find the pertinent verses to throw at the liar, as well as putting on the armor above.

Here are some general summations to use, if you want to put them on a card, until you can get a personal collection by studying.

JESUS IS MY ADVOCATE TO THE FATHER

Romans 8:34 ~~  who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, but rather, was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.

Hebrews 7:25 ~ ~  Therefore He is also able to save forever those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

I HAVE THE ARMOUR OF GOD

Ephesians 6:10-18 (above)

I STAND FIRM

Ephesians 6:13-14 (above)

I AM MORE THAN A CONQUERER THROUGH HIM WHO LOVES ME—Romans 8:37

CHRIST DEFEATED SATAN AND MADE AN OPEN SHOW OF HIM—Col 2:15 ~ ~ “When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through the cross.”

Here is an easy one to memorize and use when those thoughts keep coming up during the night:

“When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, your comforts delight me” ~ ~ Ps 94:19

When we do these things, we are: doing what Paul told us to do in 2 Corinthians 10:5

We are destroying arguments and all arrogance raised against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,”

THIS should be the daily goal of every believer!! Because what we think MATTERS!!!

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 9

GOD’S WORD FOR FEBRUARY 9 ~ ~ Isaiah 46:9-10~ ~

“Remember the former things long past,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is no one like Me,
Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things which have not been done,
Saying, ‘My plan will be established,
And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’;”

Psalm 33:11 ~ ~ “The plan of the Lord stands forever,
The plans of His heart from generation to generation.”

Throughout the ages, but especially in these days, it is critical that Christians believe the entire Word of God.

This is what the enemies of God are working so hard at. If they can get Christians to question God’s Word, they have won the next generations. It’s important that we know the Truth, and that is that EVERY WORD IS TRUE, because it was inspired by the Holy Spirit. As Jesus said, He fulfilled every “jot and tittle” of the Law. That means, in our language, every comma, apostrophe and period.

One way they try to discredit the Word is to say that the first five books of the Bible were written over many generations and finally finished only five centuries before Christ’s birth. That way they can say that all the foundational truths contained in there have been either made up to start with, or changed and misunderstood throughout the years. That way, too, these self-appointed experts can tell our young people that nature and mankind “evolved”, and there is no God, and no right and wrong, no absolutes, and therefore no one to be accountable to but ourselves. From their point of view, however, we are accountable to THEM, and they are accountable to no one since, from their teaching, neither God nor truth exist.

But truth does exist, God exists, and His Word is 100% true, and Moses did write the first five books. Even Jesus Himself told us he did:

He said in John 5:46 ~ ~ “For had you believed Moses, you would have believed me: for he wrote of me.”

As Joshua told the people in Joshua 21:45

Not one of the good promises which the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed; everything came to pass.”

And so all the hundreds of specific promises in the Word are secure under the authority of the God of the Universe.

Of course, since they reject God, and the Word of God, they would reject what Jesus said too, but for Christians, that is no excuse to fall for their lies. We know better.

While for us, the Word of God is enough, (or should be) it many times isn’t for unbelievers, so God has provided some amazing physical proofs for those people…..for our witnessing to them of the truth of the Word:

Not only are there countless fossils and artifacts discovered regularly that prove the incidents written in the Bible, that prove those things did happen just as described there, but now we have physical proof that Moses did write the first five books thousands of years before Christ became incarnate and died to save those who would believe.

Archaeologists have discovered two tiny silver scrolls on which are carved important passages from Moses. The scrolls, once used as amulets, were found in the ruins of early sixth or seventh century B.C. Jerusalem.

Each scroll was made of thin silver foil, no thicker than tissue paper. One of the scrolls was an inch wide and an inch and one-half long. Scientists studying the fine engraving under a microscope found what appears to be the text of a priestly blessing from the Book of Numbers. They noted that it was remarkable that the blessing is identical to modern texts, showing that the text has been accurately preserved for thousands of years.

It is quite likely that since these are very small scrolls, that they are the little box-type things that the pharisees attached to their foreheads and the hems of their robes, to adhere to the following law in Deuteronomy 6:6-9, which was symbolic to mean that they should always have the Word of God on their minds, but they did it physically.

“These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart.  And you shall repeat them diligently to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. You shall also tie them as a sign to you and, and they shall be as frontlets on your forehead. You shall also write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

But as Jesus pointed out in Mt. 23:5, the pharisees made a show of obeying the law perfectly (which they didn’t obey), by doing these things very visibly. Therefore, these tiny scrolls were very likely worn on the foreheads, hands, or hems (phylacteries) of the priests and scribes even in much earlier days, or at least carried with them all the time.

Jesus said: “And they do all their deeds to be noticed by other people; for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments.”

True faith doesn’t require the support of science. However, we are right to expect that true science will never do less than support the Bible when they are both speaking about the same subject, and time after time, it does.

Hebrews 4:12

“For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Remember, in reading the verses referring to the Law in the Old Testament in this context, it means the Word of God for us, since Jesus completely fulfilled the Law for those who will acknowledge it.

Deuteronomy 4:2

“You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, so that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I am commanding you.”

Deuteronomy 12:28

“Be careful and listen to all these words which I am commanding you, so that it may go well for you and your sons after you forever, for you will be doing what is good and right in the sight of the Lord your God.”

Deuteronomy 29:29

“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, so that we may follow all the words of this Law.

They belong to His people. We need to hold them securely and pass them on!!!!
