GOD’S WORD FOR MARCH 2

GOD’S WORD FOR MARCH 2 ~ ~ Genesis 1:28~ ~ “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.”

Weaverbirds are very interesting. Others in the family are called weaver finches, various buffalo weavers, sparrow weavers, various social weavers, and bishops. The interesting thing is it’s talent at nest-weaving. Thus, the names. As you might guess by the names, they vary greatly in looks, but the connecting link is their weaving talents.

The weaverbird nest consists of woven strips of fiber and grass. Using beak and feet, the male weaverbird makes loops and knots to weave his hanging nest. Then the nest is inspected by a prospective mate. If she doesn’t like the nest, she will turn him down.

The male must then tear down his work and start over. Some males have been observed constructing and tearing down their nests two dozen times before finding a prospective mate who is satisfied with his work. Sounds sort of like a basket social in reverse.

Some weaverbirds actually build huge cities of nests protected by a woven roof. One roof over a weaverbird city was 15 feet across!

It is amazing the talent and artistic ability that God gave some of His creatures! Those birds do better than I could!!!!

However, what sets us apart from animals is the fact that our Creator made us to have a special relationship with Him. Even when Adam and Eve, and each of us, placed our will above God’s Word, He still loved us enough to pay the highest price to restore us to Himself. Jesus Christ lived in perfect obedience to God for us and then suffered the penalty of our disobedience against God.

In His resurrection from the dead, all those who embrace Christ in faith receive the promise of being made new creations again – beginning right here in this life! That’s the wide gulf between humans and animals!

GOD’S WORD FOR MARCH 1

GOD’S WORD FOR MARCH 1 ~ ~ Hebrews 11:7~ ~ “By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”

When we think of Mount Ararat, we usually think of the search for Noah’s Ark. While the Ark has not been definitely located in modern times, the mountain has many other discovered mysteries. What is very likely the world’s oldest city sits in ruins on the southern slopes of Mount Ararat. Tradition and evidence seem to support the idea that this was the first city built after the flood.

According to tradition, after the flood, Ham built a city called Naeltamauk. The ruins on Mount Ararat are all that remain of what were clearly buildings and streets. The great stone blocks of the city are cut in the ancient Urartu design. Could Noah have walked the still discernible streets of this city? Could this be the setting for the events recorded in Genesis 9? Might one of these buildings have been Noah’s house?

Like so many of the caves and other sites on Mount Ararat, the city is wrapped in mystery and legend. The local people take the Old Testament biblical history very seriously. They seem to have little doubt that the mountain is the landing place of the Ark, Noah’s home after the flood and the burial place of Noah and his wife.

Strangely enough, the ruins of the city have never been systematically investigated. If they were, imagine what we might find, especially if this is indeed the city that Ham built!

We never need doubt that the Bible’s accounts of the earliest events of man’s history are true. Those who live on Ararat have no doubt about Genesis, and neither do we, because it is in God’s Word.

Genesis 8:4

“Then in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark rested upon the mountains of Ararat.”

And we know that God’s Word is true:

Hebrews 4:12

“For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, …”

Joshua 21:45

“Not one of the good promises which the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed; everything came to pass.”

Since the promises and history of the Old Testament are true, proven over and over again, both by physical evidence, political history, and the prophesies of Jesus’s life, death and resurrection, what is to make anyone doubt the truth of the New Testament? How can anyone doubt those events when they were predicted hundreds, even thousands of years earlier in great detail, all coming perfectly true?

Even the events that we are experiencing in the political realm have been written 2,000 years ago, by John, when he received the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, which we are now living in real time.

How can anyone doubt? Stand and be strong in the days to come. The pull downward, the deception will be very very great. It will be subtle, but it will be great, and, if accepted, will lead to eternal torment. That is the real word of God, and it is true. But there are no morals in this world, no truth. What you hear will more and more be “pretty little lies” Don’t fall for it!!!! Live the Truth!

John 1:17

“ For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

John 8:32

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

John 4:24

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Joshua 24:14

“Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord!

(The Truth of the One True Almighty God is both fearsome and wonderful—–it all depends upon which “side of the river” you’re on—-Are you in the wilderness, or in the land of Canaan given by God to His people? We have nothing to fear as long as we are truly His, repentant, and living in faith and truth, but don’t believe the lie that His great wrath won’t come. He said it, and He cannot lie. Fear Him but trust Him to be just)

Ephesians 6:10

“….., be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”

Psalm 25:5

Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.

Psalm 86:11

Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name.

Psalm 91:4

“He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.”
