ISAIAH, CHAPTER 33, VS 1-7

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 33,VS 1

3 “Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! When thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 33, VS 1

1– This is probably one of the first utterings of the Golden Rule. The way we treat others will come back to us sooner or later.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 33, VS 2

2 “O Lord, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 33, VS 2

v. 2– The Lord is our armor, and our salvation. Every morning, we should dress in His armor. (Ephesians 6:11-14). We need to be conscious at all times of His Presence, and His Greatness, as well as our  weakness. He is our only protection and provision.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 33, VS 3-5

3 At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered.

4 And your spoil shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpiller: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon them.

5 The Lord is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 33, VS 3-5

v. 3– “People, and nations, refer to groups of persons under one kingship–in this case, Satan–The demons of Satan flee from Christ, as He was lifted up on the cross, and as we lift up His name.

v. 4— The enemies of the Lord will be raked up as caterpillars and locusts after destruction.

v. 5– The Lord is exalted–He has made us all righteous by His death and resurrection.”

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 33, VS 6-7

6” And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.

7 Behold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 33, VS 6-7

v. 6– God’s people have wisdom and knowledge, and the Lord will uphold us in all!!

7– We desperately want others to come to the Lord and find His peace and love!! Our mission is to pray and witness to as many as the Lord leads us.
