ISAIAH CHAPTER 4

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 4, VS 1

1.And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 4, VS 1

  1. 1– The leaders of the various denominations will try to win the Christians again, saying, (although not in so many words) “you don’t have to really believe, just belong to our church so others will follow”.They will combine religions….defying the One True Christian Church, the Body of Christ, and turning to carnal, unsaved, teachings.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 4, VS 2

2 In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 4, VS 2

v. 2– The “branch” referred to here is His chosen people. His Spirit-filled Christians who, as Paul says, were grafted in place with the Jews. We will live guided by God’s Love and peace, and He will give us the fruits of the Spirit (See Romans 11: 17).

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 4, VS 3

3 Those who are left in Zion, who remain in Jerusalem, will be called holy, all who are recorded among the living in Jerusalem.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 4, VS 3

  1. 3– And those of His people who remain true to Him alone through this world, and through the Great Tribulation will be called Holy.(Rev. 7:14)

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 4, VS 4

 4 When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.

 

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 4, VS 4

v. 4– He will cleanse the churches of the influence of Satan and will make us one church with each person following the Lord, not men, and we will be one in Spirit.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 4, VS 5-6 And the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defense.

6.And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the day time from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 4, VS 5-6

v. 5– The cloud of smoke and fire is with us now to guide us. It is the Holy Spirit that dwells within us, and is our guide, defender, counselor, lover,–everything we need.

v. 6– The tabernacle is Jesus. We rest in Him and He shelters us through the storms of life, and guides us through them, as He brings us closer to Him with the experiences, and gives strength and love to get through them as we lean on Him. See Ezek. 36:25-30 and 8-11; also Jeremiah 32:38-41 and 31:31-35 and (New Covenant) Ezek 37:26-28.
