ISAIAH CHAPTER 9, VS 1-10

ISAIAH CHAPTER 9, VS 1-10

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 9, VS 1-2

1.Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.

2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 9, VS 1-2

1-2—However, even so, if they hold onto a little of the love and light of the Lord, the darkness isn’t like before they were saved. He is still waiting for them to repent.

SCRIPTURE, CHAPTER 9 VS 3-4

3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.

4 For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.
APPLICATION.. CHAPTER 9, VS 3-4
3—Many have been saved since the coming of Jesus and His sacrifice for us, but many are coming for the wrong reason. The numbers have increased, but the shear joy of knowing Our Lord has not. Many are coming for the wrong reasons…they are coming for the “spoil”…for what God can do for them, instead of giving their all to Him just for love of Him. The popularity of the many prosperity preachers is witness to this. If people aren’t given money and healing, and a good life on earth, they question God, or they question their volume of faith. It is not faith in what He can do for us that is needed, there is too much of that…it is faith in Himself, and knowing that He knows what we need and don’t need, and total reliance on Him for everything that He desires, as well as pure love for Him….”though He slay me, yet I will trust Him.”–(Job 13:15)

4—God has broken satan’s hold on us when we were saved, He has no real power over us. Whatever we encounter is either our actions and attitudes which opened a door to Him, or Our Lord allowing him to test us. Either way, with an open heart to repentance, and an open mind to Our Lord, we can trust that God will keep the boundaries on satan in our lives. We need to keep our eyes and hearts on Our Lord at all times.

SCRIPTURE, CHAPTER 9, VS 5-7

5 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.

6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 9, VS 5-7
Vs 5—7–our battles with demonic forces is in our minds and lives. They use Confusion, loud lies and deceptions, so it will be difficult to discern the Lord’s voice from demonic voices in our minds, for the mind is the battleground, since demons cannot touch our spirits once we are saved. The Lord will purify us through fire during the crisis of our lives….we need to stay strong with Him, in His Word, –holding on even in the confusion, and He will bring the victory for ourselves and for the entire Body of Christ….not always as we think, but, it will be the best for eternity, for He is all-wise. This is all possible because of the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 9, VS 8-10

8 The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.

9 And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,

10 The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 9, VS 8-10

Vs 8-10—And all this is for the purpose of giving sight to the blinded eyes of God’s chosen people. They will eventually see the light and know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and join us in the Body of Christ. The bricks of the laws of the Old Covenant will fall, and they will stand on the New Foundation of the New Covenant through Jesus!!!!
