ISAIAH CHAPTER 9, VS 11-21

ISAIAH CHAPTER 9, VS 11-21

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 9, VS 11-13

11 Therefore the Lord shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;

12 The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

13 For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the Lord of hosts.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 9, VS 11-13

When God’s people choose this world, with its pleasures and evil ways, He will have to get their attention to save them. Sometimes, He will allow demonic forces to have their way with us so that we will be brought down low so our only choice is to seek the Lord. This He does so our eternal life won’t be lost.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 9, VS 14-17

14 Therefore the Lord will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day

15 The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.

16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.

17 Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 9, VS 14-17
In God’s eyes, that old preacher in that little country church , that shy person who has no church, but loves the Lord fully, are the honourable and the heads in the Body of Christ, but the false teachers in the huge multi-million-dollar cathedrals, bringing in lots of money, selling best-selling books in worldly stores, are the tail, and causing people to err. The sad thing is, that, even though these teachers will be judged by the Lord in the end for teaching evil, the people who were deceived will also be lost because of what they believed, so we must be so very careful to analyze every teaching in line with the Word of God before we believe it. We are all capable of sin and falling into deception, and our only recourse is to fall on our faces before our Lord and claim our weakness, asking for His power to flow through us in every detail of our lives.

For, even though He must judge justly, His hand is always out there for us to take….24/7/365, He is waiting for us to come to Him for anything we need, and if our hearts are sincere, and we humbly want to please Him and Him alone, He will save us and change us!!!!

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 9, VS 18-21

18 For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke.

19 Through the wrath of the Lord of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother.

20 And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:

21 Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 9, VS 18-21

vs 18-21—the Lord must punish evil. That is why He is God…He is wise and just. If He left a little evil, it would grow again and overtake the world. His anger is ‘not turned away’—it must be satisfied, which is why Jesus came to pay the price that must be paid for the sins we have committed. But, notice what He finishes with, time and time again…”but His hand is stretched out still.” No matter how awful His punishment must be, how powerfully His might is shown in justice, His hand is always out there for us to take hold of in the midst of it…
