ISAIAH CHAPTER 30, VS 1-11

ISAIAH CHAPTER 30, VS 1-11

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 30 VS 1-2

 1. “Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:  That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharoah, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 30, VS 1-2

1-2– Woe to them that seek advice of men instead of God. They will “add sin to sin” because the men are likewise imperfect as the other. Only Jesus can give us good advice. Only He knows all.

Egypt represents other people, whether Christians or not. It represents worldly values and worldly “wisdom”, which is a shadow of the Truth that comes from God. The worldly values are of the devil, and he always has the opposite, counterfeit, lies, compared to God’s values and Truth.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 30, VS 3

3 “Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 30, VS 3

— We just get confused when we listen to other men. Sometimes They don’t mean to turn us wrong, but only God knows what is best for each of us, and we need to concentrate on spending time with Him and developing our spirits to hear Him.  Sometimes others can be tools of satan to confuse us, without meaning to, or even knowing it.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 30, VS 4-5

4. “For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.  They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be of an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 30, VS 4-5

v. 4-5– Some people tend to use each other for profit and be ashamed of each other. We see that in some churches, as the pastor will not preach the True Word for fear of “offending” someone, and losing money. This is the result of the erosion that begins with God’s people listening to the “wisdom of Egypt”—the “wisdom” of this world, which is run by the devil.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 30, VS 6

6 “The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 30, VS 6

In Chapter 14, vs 28-30, Jesus is the rod, and the fiery serpent. In John 12:32 Jesus likens Himself to the serpent God told Moses to lift up for those who were bitten by the snakes to look upon to be healed. He is held up for all to believe, and the “fiery flying serpent” (See Numbers 21: 1-9) which is the fruit of the cockatrice, is the Holy Spirit, through which Jesus will put the final end to iniquity. With that in mind, Verse 6 is saying that the remnant—the One, True Church, separate from the corrupted organized churches, will carry the riches from Our Lord, to the land of trouble and anguish, which Jesus Himself experienced before them. This remnant will be determined to speak the True Word, and tell of their Lord so others can be saved. They won’t be like the pastors and people of the corrupted churches, wanting worldly profit. These shall speak and put themselves in danger to spread the riches of the Word of God without profit of any kind, for they will reject the riches of this world in favor of fellowship with their Lord and King, Jesus Christ.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 30, VS 7

“ For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 30, VS 7

He is saying that the former “churches” are now Egyptians, meaning they are worldly, and have lost their salvation.   They have been accepting sin into their midst, and not preaching the True Word.   They will “help in vain, and to no purpose”, which means, they will still use the same words, some of which are in God’s Word, but it will be in vain, and have no purpose, because they will be empty words with no Spirit in them, because they themselves have crossed over to the devil’s side, pleasing the world instead of the Lord. “Their strength is to sit still”…..meaning, they might as well not speak at all, because they are not speaking with power, and even though t some of the words sound right, they are actually as lies coming from them, because they have rejected the Lord, so they are bringing themselves deeper into condemnation with every word they speak. They would be better off to sit still and be silent. Jesus said in Luke 11:23, “He that is not with Me is against me; and he that gathereth not with Me scattereth”, and, again, in Rev. 3: 14-17, He speaks of people who don’t do His work on earth, “….so then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of My mouth.”

We must give ourselves totally to obeying Him. This doesn’t necessarily mean a profession of God’s work, but working for Him is internal. Living in the Fruits of the Spirit, using the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, and looking to, and loving Our Lord with all our hearts.

SCRIPTURE: CHAPTER 30, VS 8-11

8 Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:”

9 “That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:  Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.”

APPLICATION: CHAPTER 30, VS 8-11

He’s saying that we should speak up, let it be known, write it for future generations, that they must beware of arrogant preachers who are rebellious liars, who do not want to hear or obey the Law of the Lord, but want to be leaders themselves. They will say to the people who are true to the Lord that they are wrong, for they do not want to hear the True Word. They will not accept true Christians into the churches because they will speak what the Holy Spirit tells them, and they do not want to hear it.  Do we not see this happening in these times?  People do not want to hear about the Lord.   They don’t want to hear about sin.  they want their pleasures, their cell phones, their games, and their free walk through life.   Yes, even so-called Christians don’t want to lead the tough life that is required of a true follower of Jesus Christ.

If we don’t warn them, they may fall for the lies which the leaders will give them, and rebel in their hearts, causing the Lord to have to chastise them.

For times are getting more evil as the end times progress, and we need to walk

that straight and narrow road of Righteousness.
